Privacy Policy

Last updated: August 2026

This policy explains what Go By The Numbers (“we,” “us”) collects when you use gobythenumbers.com, why we collect it, and the choices you have. We keep it in plain English on purpose.

What we collect

Information you give us. The website address you enter; your answers to the three questions in the audit; an email address, if you choose to have a report sent to you or create an account; and anything you type into our contact form (your name, email, and message).

Public information about your business. To build your report we read your public website and public business listings (for example your Google Business Profile) and run standard performance checks on your public pages. This is information that is already public.

Documents you upload (paid audit only, optional). If you buy the $79 audit you may upload financial documents such as a profit-and-loss statement. Uploading is optional. We ask you not to upload anything containing your customers' personal data.

Payment information. Payments are handled by Stripe. We never see or store your full card number — Stripe does, under its own terms.

Billing details. When you buy the paid audit and create an account, we collect your company name and billing address (street address, city, postal code, and country) so we can issue a receipt and meet our tax and record-keeping obligations.

Technical information. Basic request data such as your IP address and browser type, used to run the service, prevent abuse, and rate-limit our free tools.

How we use it

We use the information above only to:

We do not sell your personal information, and we do not use your uploaded documents to train AI models.

Who we share it with

We use a small set of trusted service providers to run the product, and share only what each one needs: Stripe (payments), Anthropic (the AI that helps write your report — your report inputs are processed through its API and are not used to train its models), Google (public business and performance data), Resend (email delivery), Supabase and Vercel (database, file storage, and hosting), and Upstash (rate-limiting). We may also disclose information if required by law.

How long we keep it

We delete the original files you upload within 90 days, keeping only the derived numbers that make up your report. Report links are permanent unless you ask us to remove them. Contact messages and account information are kept for as long as needed to run the service and respond to you.

Your choices and rights

You can ask us to access, correct, or delete your personal information at any time — just email us. You can decline to provide your revenue in the audit (we'll estimate and tell you we did), and you never have to upload a document.

Security

Data is encrypted in transit, access to our database is restricted at the row level, and administrative access requires multi-factor authentication. No system is perfectly secure, but we take the protection of your information seriously.

Children

The service is for businesses and is not directed to anyone under 18.

Changes

If we change this policy we'll update the date at the top. Continuing to use the service after a change means you accept the updated policy.
